Muhammad Qasim Ijaz APFADirector – Tax and Advisory
Qasim joined ‘A. Shahbaz & Co.’ in May 2014 and played a pivotal role in growth of tax and outsourcing practice of Firm. He is Director of Tax and Advisory services. He is particularly expert in textile, manufacturing, media & publishing, power, construction, hospitality, and foods & beverages sectors. His professional experience spans over a period of more than 9 years.
Qasim specializes in tax matters, secretarial compliances, systems and procedures, and bookkeeping services. He is also a researcher on eatery habits of people in Lahore and operates a Facebook page for disseminating research results to his page audience.
In the past, Qasim was also associated in senior position with ‘Assurance Department’ of Grant Thornton Anjum Rahman. Having worked for a number of years at GT as an assurance adept, Qasim developed excellent approach towards assurance engagements. Later, he improvised his tax, secretarial and bookkeeping skills.
He has worked with a number of clients such as Punjab Provincial Cooperative Bank Limited, ICC Textiles Limited, Zephyr Textiles Limited, Master Textile Mills Limited, First National Equities Limited, Punjab Educational Endowment Fund, and Eden Group.
He has also worked as a team member in providing services in supporting role to Superior Courts in the case of Habib Bank Limited vs Needle Point (Private) Limited. Some of his tax and advisory related assignments include preparation of fixed asset register for Lahore Gymkhana Club, preparation of fixed asset register for Hijaz Social Welfare Society, provision of tax advisory services, tax exemption and services realted to SECP matters to Sahiwal Coal Power Plant and its subsidiary Huaneng Fuyun Port and Shipping (Private) Limited, ERP implementation (MS Dynamics) at Bundu Khan Foods (Private) Limited, corporate restructuring and transaction advisory services for Parwest Group and bookkeeping of Hunbul Tex (Private) Limited.
Qasim is Associate Member of Pakistan Institute of Public Finance Accountants (PIPFA).
He speaks Punjabi and Urdu, and is fluent in English.
